I am doing some research with pointwise.
To get better aerodynamic results, I hope to improve the structured O-mesh by adding T-Rex close to the airfoil. I could not find any materials about this, but it seems this is feasible through some information online. Anyone has some ideas, please? I am looking forward to your replies! Thanks a lot! Xiaosong |

Hello Xiaosong:
You can't add a T-Rex mesh (anisotropic triangles) to a structured grid (quads) in Version 17. Those are two different mesh types that would have to be in separate domains. So you could make one T-Rex domains around the airfoil and then a structured domain around that out to the farfield. However, in my opinion, you can't get better quality in the mesh and CFD result than by using an entirely structured quad grid for an airfoil. Best Regards

Hi, John,
Thank you very much for your reply! That is a good idea to apply both structured and unstructured domains. I will try that, and check whether it will work better or not. Thanks for your time! Keep contact, please! Best, Xiaosong |
