Hi, I'm a new pointwise user and i have a question. I would like to know if it is possible thanks to Pointwise to discretize one edge with 3 nodes. This is an option present in GAMBIT (Set Edge Element Type). To make an idea, I've attached an image about what I need. This third point is used by my solver to calculate the grid distortion. I have to generate a .neu file that contains this information too.

Hello Alessandro,
What you are referring to is a higher order quad element. Pointwise only supports the standard linear elements. However, that being said, you can write a Glyph script to add the additional node to a particular edge and simply append that node to the connectivity of the cell. You can see an example of such work by visiting http://blog.pointwise.com/2014/06/10...gal-impellers/. Regards, Travis |
