very large saved files

Hello,
In Phoenics V3.6 the saved files usually become very large (about 10 times larger than in V3.5.1), because of the pbca and phipbca files. They should contain something like geometrical data (not the solution). I have no idea what the use of this is, so I would like to not save these, but I don't know how to achieve this. Could anyone tell me how to do this? (And possibly why anyone would like to save the files). Regards, Jelle |

Hi Jelle,
pbca do you mean pbcl. If so this file may well be larger then before, I believe it has more cut-cell information stored in it then before due to general improvements. the other file you can kill, I think it might have been just used for restarts. They have removed it in newer versions of 3.6, I believe its redundant now |

Hi Mick,
Thanks for your reply! pbca would be the same as pbcl, or pbcm, or whatever letter you assign to the intermediately stored files. However, if I remove pbca, the intermediate results cannot be viewed anymore. Removing phipbca has no effect however (this is the really large file, more than 10 times larger than pbca). Best regards, Jelle |

I now have a batch file that is scheduled in Windows and deletes the large files regularly. That fixes the problem to a large extent.
