I want to know whether the latest version of phoenics can run under the unstructured grids? and what software is most suitable for its grid generation? i heard of the icemcfd but i can find it difficult for me to learn, while its inner bfc is also troublesome, can the Cartesian grids togather with parsol be enough for most fluid problems?

eager for your help

YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THE CARTESIAN GRIDS, ARE ENOUGH FOR LOTS OF FLOW CASES, BUT YOU NEED MORE THAN THAT. ALSO YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT ICEMCFD, I HAVE TESTED IT. UNSTRUCTURED MESHES ARE NOT SUPPORTED YET BY CHAM, ONLY CARTESIANS AND BFC'S. I SUGGEST FOR CREATING UNSTRUCTURED GRIDS, GAMBIT 2.1.6 OF FLUENT INC. YOU CAN AUTOMATICALLY CREATE AND EXPORT YOUR UNSTRUCTURED MESH. THEN OF COURSE YOU CAN'T SOLVE IT IN PHOENICS, YOU NEED OTHER SOLVERS AS FLUENT 6.1.18....
