Purchase group for Shareware

On CHAM's web site I have read that the Phoenics shareware can be freely copied. That is especially useful for purchase groups with several members who want to buy the same sharware level and share the costs. CHAM originally states: "Once bought, the products may be freely copied and distributed, provided that: CHAM is acknowledged as their originator, and CHAM is informed of the identity and address of each recipient of a copy."
I'm interested in Shareware level 2 (allows two-phase flows, laminar and turbulent, heat transfer and chemical reactions, body-fitted coordinates etc.) with reference manual TR200. It costs 167.50 pound or about 255 Euro. That price could be shared between several members of a purchase group. If there is someone who want to build a small purchase group, don't hesitate to contact me by mail. I suggest sharing the costs and sending the copy of the shareware by COD parcel (cash on delivery). Well, I am searching for members for a small purchase group for Shareware level 2 with manual TR200. Currently, we are only 3 members (in France and Germany with main interest in the optimization of mechanical process equipment). We hope to find at least two others in order to save some money. For a group of five, the individual share is one fifth of the purchase price of EUR 255, i.e. EUR 51. The costs for copying, packaging and shipping as COD parcel (shipping and COD fee alone EUR 24.10 or EUR 34.10 with airmail) would be EUR 43 (land mail) or EUR 53 (airmail). So, the price for each member of our group would be EUR 94 (land mail) or EUR 104 (airmail). If you are interested, please send an E-Mail to dufour_paris@yahoo.fr.

Hi,
I think you have a good idea though, as you will appreciate Shareware is now a little "long in the tooth" as it remains a DOS-only based upon PHOENICS as it existed some 10-15 years ago onto which a basic GUI has been attached. A replacement PHOENICS Shareware is long overdue I'm afraid but I should mention that we now provide the latest release to PhD students at equivalently attractive rates to the earlier Shareware release. Contact sales@cham.co.uk for more information. Also, we now offer PHOENICS-3.5 for interactive access via the Internet - see; http://www.in2itive.biz/cham for which username and password access is required. Again, contact sales@cham.co.uk for more information. Yours, Peter |
