[OpenFOAM] paraFoam crashes with channelFoam example

Hi All,

I am having a problem with paraFoam crashing that I am hoping someone can help with. When I try and step through the time steps after on the third one it crashes, even if I start at 4 and go to 5 and then 6. So I don't believe that it is anything to do with any particular time step. I am running it on a virtual machine that subsequently crashes too, so I have limited output from the crash, but the last few lines are as follows:

From function messageStream:

perator OSstream&()
in file lnInclude/messageStream.C at line 203.

FOAM aborting

This seems to be very similar to a problem with foamToVTK discussed but not resolved at this thread:

I have watched the system monitor and it doesn't appear to be running out of memory.

I am running OpenFOAM 1.6 on Kubuntu 9.10 and compiled paraFoam on my machine.

Hej there!

I just encountered the same problem with the channelFOAM tutorial (for the first time) using paraview-3.8.0 on ubuntu-10.4. Everything works fine (even jumping to the last frame) but going through the time steps frame by frame makes paraview crash.

Matthew, did you allready fix the problem?

you need to add the header to each of the .xy files... it is missing for somereason.
