welding sim visualization problems in Paraview

Hi,
I have a large dataset of a welding simulation with a temperature distribution and vector field about the weld spot (i.e. xyz coordinates each with an associated temperature, T, and vector, uvw), but I'm having trouble in figuring out how to visualize everything properly. Rendering all the data points with temperature indicated by color is easy enough, but I'd like to represent them as a continuous volume or mesh (instead of distinct points) and be able to show the vectors as arrows on the surface of the solid. I read through part of the user manual and tried using the Extract Surface and Outline filters, but I didn't see any effect. Does the data have to be reorganized or preprocessed in some way? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
