Wrong results of Paraview plots in case patch

Hello,
I recently noticed that the visualization of Velocity variable in Paraview is wrong when displayed in a boundary patch. For example if I use a noSlip conditions on walls in openFoam, Paraview shows some velocity values on the wall (using extractBlock --> wallPatch): however the velocity should be 0. This also occurs with other type of patches: if I use the surfaceNormalFixedValue on a patch I'm expecting to see in Paraview the value that I specified as reference value. However this not happen and Paraview shows different magnitude of values. The application of the boundary in openFoam is correct, indeed the area average value gives me the imposed value. Paraview only shows the correct value of velocity in a patch if I save the VTK from openFoam with the command foamToVTK. In the attached images are the plot in paraview with the direction of glyphs in the two cases: - using extractBlock patchName - using the foamToVTK comand in OF and directly using the vtp file Why Paraview behaves like this? Thanks, WhiteW |
