Hi all,
I am having trouble with paraview reading the "positions" file written by code in OpenFOAM. I am using: - OpenFOAM 5x - Paraview 5.4.0 - solver: sprayFoam The error message I have recieved is: "ERROR: In /home/ubuntu/OpenFOAM/ThirdParty-dev/ParaView-5.4.0/VTK/IO/Geometry/vtkOpenFOAMReader.cxx, line 8285 vtkOpenFOAMReaderPrivate (0x558b15bd67f0): Error reading line 20 of /home/calvin/OpenFOAM/calvin-v1906/run/NozzlePipe3DCase/1e-05/lagrangian/sprayCloud/positions: Expected punctuation token ')', found 0" When looking in the forum it seems like a common issue but no posted suggestions I have found have solved the problem. Others state the issue is: "the problem is that ever since the barycentric positions were implemented in OpenFOAM-dev and released in OpenFOAM 5.x (OpenFOAM Foundation), it hasn't been possible to load the Lagrangian data into ParaView when using the internal reader". Most of what I have attempted has come from this thread: https://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/openfoam-community-contributions/219060-writing-old-positions-file-lagrangian-solvers-openfoam-5-x.html Please let me know if you have any more suggestions, or can offer more of an explanation to posted solutions. Also let me know if you would like any more info Thanks so much! Cal |
