Dear all, I am new to Ubuntu and new to OpenFoam.
I installed the apps with a tutorial and everyting seemed to work fine. I tried to run my first case, blockMesh and everything looks as it is supposed to be. However, when I want to run parafoam it shows me cannot use paraview reader module library (PVFoamReader) The PV_PLUGIN_PATHH environment value is not set Continuting with built in reader: paraFoam -vtk created temporary 'cavity-foam' /home/becci/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1906/bin/paraFoam: 326: /the same path/ : paraFoam: not found maybe this is a very stupid question, but can please anyone help me resolve it? with easy words? I am new to this world, try to learn but am super confused. Thanks for your time! |

Environment variables are variables that provide the environment with certain information. For example, most programs will have some default behavior that occurs on startup and that behavior can be conrolled via environment variables. The variable you seem to be missing is one that tells paraview where to find a plugin directory. You should be able to google the variable name and get some information on what to set it to. Then google how to set environment variables in Ubuntu for information on how to set the variable so it is always available when you start a shell. Maybe this will help some -
