Greetings fellow cfd'ers,

I have a problem calculating the surface area of individuals cells. Let's say that I have a single plate standing vertically and I would like to calculate drag contribution of the lower half. The problem arises when I would like to calculate the (frontal) area of plate.
These steps do I undertake
- Extractblock (select the surface)
- Transform the surface, such that I only see the perpendicular contribution (scale in x is set to 1e-5)
- IntegrateVariables, selecting (attribute) the cell data, the total area is correctly shown.
- Select (attribute) point data and export to csv.

The summation of the all the values in 'cell_surface_area' does not add up to the total area....
Can anyone tell me how to calculate the correct area of the total surface? When I have a correct method of calculating the area, the drag contributions can be easily obtained.

Thanks for all the help!
