Plot over line fails in ParaView

Hi together,
I'm struggling with a rather simple thing, as is presume.. When I try to plot a line graph (Filter "Plot Over Line") instead of seeing a plot on the right hand side of the ParaView window, I simply get a black window. A picture showing this with the cavity tutorial case is attached below. I tried it on many cases without any success. Then I thought it might be connected with my OpenFoam/ ParaView installation. So I removed the previous installed (precompiled) version and downloaded and compiled the source packages. (OpenFoam 2.1.1 with ParaView 3.12.0 on Ubuntu 12.04) This didn't do the trick.. The only thing I can still think of is an error message I repeatedly get when starting ParaView (this is not new, had it with the precompiled version and now with the manually compiled source packages): Code:
QVariantMap DBusMenuExporterDBus::getProperties(int, const QStringList&) const: Condition failed: action Maybe one of you had the same problem before and can tell me what to do.. Maybe I am just missing something obvious. Thanks in advance. Michael |

Hi again,
I would like to push this thread since I did not find a solution to the problem yet. Regards, Michael |

Hi and thanks for your reply.
As i wrote in my first comment, this always happens, regardless if it is an own case or a tutorial case. I now think that this could be due to a malfunctioning graphics driver. Unfortunately I am not very familiar on how to fix such a problem under Ubuntu, so I will have to deal with it for now. If I find a solution, I will post it here in the case someone else comes across this problem. Regrads, Michael |

Hi,
I'm also having the same problem you've mentioned. A black window appearing instead of a plot. See the attached photo. I've worked through the OpenFoam cavity case successfully until this point where the plot over line filter is required. I can't seem to get it to work. I've tried to run the filter as follows: -cavity.OpenFoam ->plot over line -cavity.OpenFoam-> slice->plot over line -cavity.OpenFoam-> slice ->call centres->plot over line -cavity.OpenFoam-> slice ->call centres-> glyph->plot over line but none of the procedures work. |
