Hi

Is there any way to reduce the size of the slice plane in Paraview? I mean that if I select the slice filter then the size of the plane is as large as the 3D geometry. So how can I reduce the slice plane dimensions in order to limit my investigation area?

I hope my question is clear

Thank you

Hi,

You can use Clip filter like for other datasets. If you want to end up with polydata then you'll have to either clip first and then slice or you can use Extract Surface filter after clipping.

Mikko

Hi

Thanks for you suggestions. To make my problem clear I am uploading a sample of what I want to do. This is a slice of a 3d geometry and I would like to limit the slice dimension to only cover the middle section (section 2) in order to calculate the mass flux through this area.

How can I do that. The extract selection did not worked

Thanks

Hi,
to me it seems that you could achieve what you want by applying two times Clip filter. Another way could be to first apply Connectivity filter and then with Threshold filter extract the right region. Select Scalars to RegionId and then choose the right region by changing Minimun and Maximum inputs.
