I'm trying to copy and paste commands from vim to the python shell in paraview,

If I copy with ctrl+shift+c and paste to the python shell it works, but if I use "+y to copy the text it reads an error for unexpected indent.

When I use :set noexpandtab it gives a double tab, but when I use :set expandtab the output looks for all intents and purposes the same as that from ctrl + shift + v, but I still get the same error message from the python shell in paraview. Has anyone else had this issue?
