Hi all,

I have a problem with the post-processing of my case.

I did a simulation with the solver chtMultiRegionSimpleFoam and after that, I just type on the terminal: paraFoam.

paraFoam opens regularly but when I push Apply button, the paraFoam program shows this error:

ERROR: In C:\msys\1.0\opt\ParaView-v4.1.0\VTK\IO\Geometry\vtkOpenFOAMReader.cxx, line 6864 vtkOpenFOAMReaderPrivate (0x88ea910): boundaryField topAir_top not found in object p at time = 0

for all the variables.

I think it is not a problem of the version because I tried to install the last version and the problem is still there.

I have installed OpenFoam 2.3 on Windows 7.

I also run the cavity simulation of the tutorial and I didn't have any problem with Paraview.

Somebody knows what can I do to overcome the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I don't think it really matters. You should still be able to see your results.

If you are still unable to see the results, then the simplest solution is to add that corresponding boundaryField in the different variables, if it isn't present.

If the solution you are interested in is not the initial solution, then you shouldn't have issues as these boundaryFields would have been defined and values associated with them in the solution.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for the fast answer.

The initial conditions are present in OpenFoam file at t=0. So I don't understand why Paraview doesn't work properly.
Moreover, the solution that it shows is not the one that I expected to see (I have followed the unofficial tutorial planeWall2D).

Any other suggestions?
