Hi,
I'm trying to find a way to get all the plot data from the plot over line function into a .dat file. Here's what I've done in detail. At a location in the pipe, I have used the plot over line function to get a plot of pressure vs pipe length. I've attached a screenshot of the line. I would like to get the values of pressure on this line in a .dat file or any file which can be manipulated. Is there a way to this? I've been looking all over! Thank you Screenshot from 2015-03-25 11:27:33.jpg |

Hi Ashish,
There are different ways to obtain your .dat file. E.g. in paraview: You make your plot over line. Now take a look in the menu File/Save Data (or Ctrl S) that will save you selected data (the line) in a .csv file., which you can open with a text-editor or spreadsheet. Note, this will probably give you interpolated data. Another possibility would be the sample utility from OpenFoam: (http://www.openfoam.org/docs/user/sample.php). Here you can define your line as well, and write the desired fields into a dat file. It is a good tool, so you should take a look into this. It allows especially to get the "real" cell values and not interpolated data. Regards Squirrel |
