Hi.. I runned icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam solver through the tutorial case called "HronTurekFsi" ( foam-extend 3.1). I believe that the running is ok, but I could not see the results in PARAVIEW.. typing "./Allrun" and "paraFoam" on the terminal.. see:
Code:
root@a-Aspire-V3-571:/home/a/PGSPAD/foam-extend/tutorials/solidMechanics/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam/HronTurekFsi# ./Allrun Running fluent3DMeshToFoam on /home/a/PGSPAD/foam-extend/tutorials/solidMechanics/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam/HronTurekFsi/fluid Running changeDictionary on /home/a/PGSPAD/foam-extend/tutorials/solidMechanics/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam/HronTurekFsi/fluid Running setSet on /home/a/PGSPAD/foam-extend/tutorials/solidMechanics/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam/HronTurekFsi/fluid Running setsToZones on /home/a/PGSPAD/foam-extend/tutorials/solidMechanics/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam/HronTurekFsi/fluid Running fluent3DMeshToFoam on /home/a/PGSPAD/foam-extend/tutorials/solidMechanics/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam/HronTurekFsi/solid Running changeDictionary on /home/a/PGSPAD/foam-extend/tutorials/solidMechanics/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam/HronTurekFsi/solid Running setSet on /home/a/PGSPAD/foam-extend/tutorials/solidMechanics/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam/HronTurekFsi/solid Running setsToZones on /home/a/PGSPAD/foam-extend/tutorials/solidMechanics/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam/HronTurekFsi/solid Running icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam on /home/a/PGSPAD/foam-extend/tutorials/solidMechanics/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam/HronTurekFsi/fluid root@a-Aspire-V3-571:/home/a/PGSPAD/foam-extend/tutorials/solidMechanics/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam/HronTurekFsi# paraFoam file does not exist: './system/controlDict' usage: paraFoam [OPTION] options: -case dir specify alternative case directory -region name specify mesh region name -touch only create the .OpenFOAM or .foam file -nativeReader use the paraview native reader for OpenFOAM * start paraview with the OpenFOAM libraries root@a-Aspire-V3-571:/home/a/PGSPAD/foam-extend/tutorials/solidMechanics/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam/HronTurekFsi# aaa.jpg inside "solid" folder I have this files: Screenshot from 2014-07-07 16:05:38.jpg inside "fluid" folder I have this files: fluidd.jpg How can I use paraView to see results? I found it strange one thing, though not any errors have appeared during the simulation, there was no creation of folders of time instants, only have the folder "0", "constant" and "system"... how to work with this kind of simulation, where I have "fluid" and "solid" folders? My GOAL IS TO SEE THE RESULTS. tHANKS FOR ATENTION FRIENDS! Last edited by steven123; July 7, 2014 at 18:37. |

Hello steven123,
you must first change into your fluid-directory and then start paraFoam. Then it will work... I hope it will work! Cheers |

Hello Georg,
at the moment I have the same problem. I want to see the results. I tried your hint and changed the directory gluid before starting paraFoam. Here you can see my results. But when I want to see the current of the fluid and the movement nothing change. So is there any other thing I have to change or recognize? Thank you for your help! best regards, Stephie |

Hello Stephie,
I cannot open your results or the image you wanted to upload. And so far I didn't really understand your question. What do you mean by movement? The mesh movement? The movement of the fluid? You said that nothing changes. Did you reconstruct your case? Cheers Georg |

Hello George,
I'm sorry.. I wanted to upload the geometry of the mesh, which shows me in paraView. Die duration of the simulation should be 40s....and I just can see 1s. So I guess there was a mistake while solving. I try it again and the simulation will run. But thank you for your hint before |

Hello George,
I tried the simulation again, but I have the same mistake like yesterdday. The comutation stops everytime after some minutes. So the simulation goes just one second. Do you know where the problem might be? this is the text the terminal shows: stephanie@stephanie:~/foam/stephanie-3.1/run/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam2/HronTurekFsi$ ./AllrunPar Running fluent3DMeshToFoam on /home/stephanie/foam/stephanie-3.1/run/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam2/HronTurekFsi/fluid Running changeDictionary on /home/stephanie/foam/stephanie-3.1/run/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam2/HronTurekFsi/fluid Running setSet on /home/stephanie/foam/stephanie-3.1/run/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam2/HronTurekFsi/fluid Running setsToZones on /home/stephanie/foam/stephanie-3.1/run/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam2/HronTurekFsi/fluid Running decomposePar on /home/stephanie/foam/stephanie-3.1/run/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam2/HronTurekFsi/fluid Running fluent3DMeshToFoam on /home/stephanie/foam/stephanie-3.1/run/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam2/HronTurekFsi/solid Running changeDictionary on /home/stephanie/foam/stephanie-3.1/run/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam2/HronTurekFsi/solid Running setSet on /home/stephanie/foam/stephanie-3.1/run/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam2/HronTurekFsi/solid Running setsToZones on /home/stephanie/foam/stephanie-3.1/run/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam2/HronTurekFsi/solid Running decomposePar on /home/stephanie/foam/stephanie-3.1/run/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam2/HronTurekFsi/solid changing into fluid directory creating links creating processor links Running icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam in parallel on /home/stephanie/foam/stephanie-3.1/run/icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam2/HronTurekFsi/fluid using 2 processes And after some minuts the computation ends. I would be very gratful for your help! Thank you, best regards, Stephie |

Hello Stephie,
sorry but this output doesn't really include helpful information. You should have a look into the stdout and stderr of icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam. Usally it's all written into a log file, e.g "log.icoFsiElasticNonLinULSolidFoam". Have fun with the debugging! Cheers |

Hello Dears
i am using this solver for my case. in the tutorial case of this solver the properties of fluid and solid set to fluid density = 1 kg/m3 kinemaic viscosity = 10e-3 solid density = 10 kg/m3 what is the meaning of this properties.? when i set my real properties for blood and vessel blood density = 1000 kg/m3 vessel density = 1200 kg/m3 my solution crashed by " complex eigenvalue detected for tensor ...." error. best regards |
