I am a new user to OpenFOAM as well as ParaView. I was working through the OpenFOAM tutorials, and the first time, I was able to view the mesh and results in ParaView. Even though the tutorials for OpenFOAM are described using an older version of ParaView, I was able to make it work. Unfortunately, it has not been working as of late, and I have no idea why. After I run a simulation and type ParaFOAM at the terminal, ParaView opens, and I can clearly see the new cavity.OpenFOAM file in the pipeline browser, but there is no eye icon next to it for me to click on. If I remember correctly, the first time I ran the tutorials, the eye icon was already there when ParaView opened. I am considering moving back to an older version of OpenFOAM (and consequently an older version of Paraview; I am using 4.1.0 right now), but I would like to not have to do this.
If it helps, after I type paraFOAM at the terminal and before ParaView pops up, a message in the temrinal reads: created temporary 'cavity.OpenFOAM' where cavity is the name of the tutorial problem and cavity.OpenFOAM is the file I am seeing in the pipeline browser, but am unable to look at, since there is no eye icon anywhere to be found. |
