[OpenFOAM] Output Messages error:getProperties(int, const QStringList&) const

when I use paraFoam -builtin in one of parallel cases for plot a figure with modification,this message is shown:

Hi Ehsan,

I'm not 100% certain, but if my memory doesn't fail me, this problem is related to a collision between the ParaView installation provided by OpenFOAM, versus the one provided by Ubuntu.

Therefore, the questions are:

How many ParaView versions do you have installed?
If there is more than one:
1. Which ones are they?
2. Where are they installed?
3. How were they installed?

Hi Bruno,
dear bruno,unfortunately its 3-4 months I have not worked with ubuntu at all.I'm not sure that I installed 4.0.1 after the crash again or didn't.how can I find answers to your wisely questions?

Hi Ehsan,

Well, since you don't know where it is installed, you can use the find command to help you. And to avoid looking everywhere, which would take a long time, try this command:

find /usr /opt $HOME -name paraview -type f

It will search for the file name "paraview" in "/usr", "/opt" and "$HOME".

But keep in mind that this will still take a long while, but at least it won't check all other partitions. If you do want to search in the other partitions as well, then add "/media" to the mix.

its strange but I can't find paraview 4.0.1 in its site

ParaView 4.0.1 probably got lost in the confusion a few months ago.

But this does bring up a problem... why is it giving you the message:

Try the commands indicated in the "Getting Started" section at http://www.openfoam.org/download/ubuntu.php
And check if it gives you the same error message.

I did the commands and it shows good in paraview.
where in www.paraview.org I can install the latest version (4.0.1 still?)

Hello,
AM currently facing the same problem. I know the reason might be that the websites have been updated but I can't see the get started section. To bring it back to the original point, I have tried to install paraview-3.12.0 twice now and I get the same error. Am really confused on what to do. Any help will be appreciated
