Hello,

I installed the precompiled 4.0.1 and the 3.98.1 64bit linux version to be able to export eps images from paraview since my old 3.12 doesn't do that.

When I try to run paraview I have got the following error for 4.0.1:

francesco@dizzy:~$ ~/local/paraview/precompiled/ParaView-4.0.1-Linux-64bit/bin/paraview
ERROR: In /home/utkarsh/Dashboards/MyTests/NightlyMaster/ParaViewSuperbuild-Release/paraview/src/paraview/VTK/GUISupport/Qt/vtkEventQtSlotConnect.cxx, line 68
vtkEventQtSlotConnect (0x2a1ed40): Cannot connect NULL objects.

ERROR: In /home/utkarsh/Dashboards/MyTests/NightlyMaster/ParaViewSuperbuild-Release/paraview/src/paraview/VTK/GUISupport/Qt/vtkEventQtSlotConnect.cxx, line 68
vtkEventQtSlotConnect (0x2a1ed40): Cannot connect NULL objects.

Segmentation fault

...and exactly the same for the 3.98 release:

francesco@dizzy:~$ ~/local/paraview/precompiled/ParaView-3.98.1-Linux-64bit/bin/paraview
ERROR: In /home/utkarsh/Dashboards/MyTests/NightlyMaster/ParaViewSuperbuild-Release/paraview/src/paraview/VTK/GUISupport/Qt/vtkEventQtSlotConnect.cxx, line 68
vtkEventQtSlotConnect (0x14fc230): Cannot connect NULL objects.

ERROR: In /home/utkarsh/Dashboards/MyTests/NightlyMaster/ParaViewSuperbuild-Release/paraview/src/paraview/VTK/GUISupport/Qt/vtkEventQtSlotConnect.cxx, line 68
vtkEventQtSlotConnect (0x14fc230): Cannot connect NULL objects.

Segmentation fault

Somebody knows what I missed.

Thanks,
Francesco

I solve the problem looking at

http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/par...-problems.html

The problem is with .bashrc and OpenFOAM
