Hi
I have a strange problem with Paraview.
I have installed the latest OpenFOAM and Paraview. But when I want to open Paraview (to see the grid or the results), when I press "apply" to show the boundaries, it is suddenly closed ans crashes! :-o
Does anybody know what is wrong? what shall I do?
Thank you very much for your help.

Greetings mohammad81,

Which version of paraview you install?

Make Sure whether its 32 bit or 64 bit or otherwise uninstall and try one more time or May be Mesh size (grid) is more, you can try with less grid.

Hi Kumar
Thanks for the reply.
I installed the latest version Paraview 3.12.0 exactly as instructed from
http://www.openfoam.org/download/ubuntu.php
This sometimes happens for some cases.
For example, for cavity problem, it is fine, but when I want to open my own created case, it crashes. I created a mesh by Gmsh and converted successfully in OpenFOAM by gmshToFoam, but Paraview can not open it and crashes!
Any idea about this problem?
Thanks a lot.

Hai,

Are you using laptop or computer, I thought due to grid size only, anyhow better check some other post you can get better idea.

Greetings to all!

@Mohammad:
  1. Run checkMesh with the full options, to check if your mesh is OK:
    Code:
    checkMesh -constant -allGeometry -allTopology
If the mesh is not OK, then you need to re-do the mesh first.
  2. If you have not yet adapted properly the files inside the folder "0", then rename the folder to "0.org". Otherwise, ParaView could be crashing because the names in the fields "U" and "p" might not be compatible with the ones in the mesh.
Best regards,
Bruno
