Hello All,

This is my first time using this forum, however I have browsed it before in the past. Thanks in advance for my question, I am sorry if it is a dumb question , but I have searched every where for an answer.

Basically I am running an sph code, and I am outputting the positions to a a csv file at every step. Obviously this results in a quite a few files. I am unsure of how to mass apply filters to these point files, obviously doing this one file at a time is quite slow. I would like to apply the filter to the files and then flip through each scene. To view it in real time as per the time step. Am I going about this the wrong way is there perhaps a better way to do this other than export to csv and then plotting the points for each scene? Any advice would be appreciated. I am quite new to paraview and particle simulation in general.

thanks alot for your reply! Previously i was using .csv to view my data. however as per your suggestion i have tried to write my date straight to .vtk, as I can put more particle information in this format. for some reason though I can not display the points in the 3d view. I can import the file fine, and when i look at the spreadsheet view the there are two columns, one with the id and the other with the xyz positions. I have tried viewing example files that are definetly in the correct format and they too can be viewed in the spreadsheet view but not in the 3d view for some reason. any advice would be once again greatly appreciated.

I have created a csv file with exactly the same points as the vtk file. I add the points to points filter which combines the xyz terms. It looks exactly identical to vtk file ,except I can view it in 3d mode. why is this? I am so confused
