Hi
Yes, you could start to look at the following toolbox: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Contrib/waves2Foam Best regards, Niels |

hi
I would like to ask you some question when I doing this: 1. I can only type in application "interFoam" instead of "waveFoam" because it is said that the command waveFoam is not found I follow the steps about how to modify interFoam, but I cannot create folder in: file system/opt/ openfoam210, so i just made one in home folder. 2. I copy the all the source codes of 3Dwaves in the SVN and give it a try while a error has occurred: --> FOAM FATAL IO ERROR: cannot open file file: /home/ll18g11/waves2Foam/tutorials/waveFoam/3Dwaves/system/fvSchemes at line 0. From function regIOobject::readStream() in file db/regIOobject/regIOobjectRead.C at line 87. |

Hi
ad. 1: If you are not able to compile the solver then you have not been able to compile the source code either, true? It is on my to-do list to change the compilation, so the libraries/executables end up in the FOAM_USER* instead. Until now, you would need to do it on your own. ad. 2: You would need to look into the 'Allrun' file in 3DWaves. It tells you have various files are copied into the correct location. This is a bit cumbersome from my point, however, it is done in this fashion to achieve a wider cross-OF-version compatibility. Or simpler, do not look into Allrun, merely execute it. Kind regards, Niels |

Hi Niels,
I built a 3D wave tank by using waves2Foam and the waves looked good. Now I would like to see the wave-induced load on a vertical cylinder in the tank, I use blockMesh to model the wave tank, topoSetDict to generate a fixed cylinder and run the simulation, but the simulation shut down at about 3.5s because of floating point issue. The BC used for cylinder is similar to the ones of damBreakWithObstacle in tutorial, I would like to ask is this problem caused by mesh or failed BC? Regards, T |
