Hello there.
Well, I'm new with OpenFOAM and for the past month I've been using it to perform some simulations. To do so, I took icoFoam and added a second phase to the simulation obtaining a velocity field for each phase. Later on I also added temperature transport for both phases. Until now I've been simulating only incompressible fluids, but now I need to do the same with compressible ones. Until now the fluids I was using had constant densities, given by a scalar value, but now I want to change this so I can assign them a variable value given by an equation, such as: "Pressure/(R*Temperature)", being R the gas universal constant. As you can see the density would then depend on the pressure, characterizing a compressible flow. What modifications should I perform in my modified icoFoam so it would be able to correctly simulate this situation??? Or would it be better to use another built-in solver? Thanks a lot |

Why don't you try rhoCentralFoam or another compressible solver?
I am not an expert in this field but it sounds like you will need many modifications |

Use rhoPimpleFoam or rhoPisoFoam and run them in laminar mode (if you need a laminar solution)
