Hey Foamers,
I've been trying to figure out how to properly assign the physical group labels and mesh a geometry created in SolidWorks, converted to STL and then imported into GMSH for use in OpenFOAM. I've been able to import the geometry into GMSH but am somewhat stuck there. I've been looking for tutorials and other information on this site and the GMSH site but haven't found anything very conclusive. Can anyone help me out with this or suggest an easier alternative? Thanks in advance. -Eric |

Rickard,
I haven't tried either of those yet. Do you prefer one over the other? If so, why? -Eric |

Hi i think that Discretizer is the best choice when you work with stl.

Hi again!
Watch the screen cast but do not change the name of the stl despite to that they say in the screen cast , if you will have prismatic layers your stl. And I think too that discretizer is a better choice because it works directly against the openfoam. (But only version 1.71 for now) The advantage of enGrid is that it'a convinient way on convert gmsh:s .geo fils to openfoam, without convert to stl. http://www.discretizer.org/ http://engits.eu/en Regards / Rickard |
