Hello Dears,

Can I use fanPressure BC to assign a pump in my simulation. Actually I have a pump in my simulation and I don't know how to assign it. Thanks to all.

Hi,

Finally i managed to make it work with air. I am not sure if it will work as a pump. From what i believe, the difference is with the material properties (air/water) so if you have a flow-pressure diagram of the pump, it should be working. But that's mere opinion so let's see if someone else knows, or you will have to look in the source code

Dear Xabi,
Hello

Thank you so much.
actually I have a submerged water intake that sucks and conveys water to the floating platform. The head difference(deltaZ) between domain's water surface and tank's water surface that is on the platform is about 40m. so in reality pump provides (DeltaZ+hL). So my purpose is to consider the pump effect at the outlet boundary of my setup (outlet is assigned to the end of the pipe after intake. Can I assign fan pressure to the Outlet or an internal face at the middle of pipe with pump curve and reach to real pressures?
The attachment shows the static pressure without considering the pump effect. The outlet is on the top of the pipe.

Best regards,

Mahdi

Default Do you have experimental results to compare?

Hi Mahdi,

As far as i know, you cannot set a BC to an internal face, but you can set up the fanPressure BC to the outlet at the top of the pipe. Otherwise you have to divide them in different regions.

Do you have experimental results so you can compare your simulation results with the experimental ones? You can take a smaller first and compare the results.
