Hello Foamers. I am presenting my PhD research/proposal to a committee of professors, and cannot think of a way to display the complicated mesh I am using for my research. The mesh comprises of about 14 blocks. Does anyone know of a way for me to clearly illustrate my mesh and how complex it is? Thanks.
Best regards, Deji |

Hi,
i guess by "complicated mesh" you mean you have a complex geometry? At first show pictures in 3D-view of the hole geometry (surface mesh) so that the audience can get an overview and understanding. After that show details of the surface mesh and the internal mesh. For that I like to use "extract by region" in paraview (better than just to slice the mesh).

Thanks for the response val46. Well, the geometry is not that complicated, I had to mesh a vertical heated plate in a manner to capture laminar, transition, and turblent boundary layer regions. Furthermore, I had to implement a surface block upstream to induce the boundary layer to become turbulent sooner, just to match experimental data.
I have never used those tools in paraview, but I will certainly look in them. Thanks. Best regards, Deji |
