I have two quick questions in the frame of icoFoam:
say, an unstructured pure hexahedral mesh has M number of cells ; 1) Is the number of unknowns for pressure and velocity equal to M and the total number of unknowns equals to 2M? 2) How can one calculate the number of unknowns in general for OpenFOAM applications? Cheers, Evren |

Velocity is a vector, thus the total number of unknowns will be 4*M.
In general a scalar equation will add M, a vector equation 3*M unknowns. |
