pbe_cfd is on a distinguished road
I have two quick questions in the frame of icoFoam:

say, an unstructured pure hexahedral mesh has M number of cells ;

1) Is the number of unknowns for pressure and velocity equal to M and the total number of unknowns equals to 2M?

2) How can one calculate the number of unknowns in general for OpenFOAM applications?

Cheers,
Evren

akidess will become famous soon enough
Velocity is a vector, thus the total number of unknowns will be 4*M.

In general a scalar equation will add M, a vector equation 3*M unknowns.
