Greetings everyone,
I'm using OpenFoam for couple of weeks now, and I'm working on a particular case. Here is my geometry : I would like to have an obstacle who can bent a bit, so to add a soft material. But it seems this case is a stress analysis and a classical flow analysis. Is it possible to make both at the same time? Do you know a tutorial or a website that could help me a bit in my work? Thanks a lot in advance Antoine |

Hi Antoine,
I think you are looking for a Fluid-Structure-Interaction solver, have you tried icoFsiFoam? It is in $FOAM_SOLVERS/stressAnalysis/icoFsiFoam in OpenFoam-1.6-ext. I am not sure if there is a tutorial for it. Philip |

Thank you very much indeed for your help Philip. FSI solver is what I'm looking for.
Do you think icoStrucFoam works well with my case ? I can't find icoFsiFoam on the OpenFoam-1.7 version. Thanks Antoine |

Antoine,
icoFsiFoam is only available in OpenFOAM extend (OF-1.6-ext, OF-1.5-dev, etc.). I do not know know too much about FSI in OpenFOAM but there should be quite a bit of information on it, even if you search "fluid structure interaction openfoam" on google. Philip |
