I have been attempting to make it to an OpenFOAM training course in the United States, and will hopefully make it to the next one. I am curious who traditionally utilizes OpenFOAM and goes to the courses. Is the user base primarily comprised of academia or private industry?
I initially became interested in OpenFOAM when I was starting down the doctoral path, but then changed directions a bit. Now I work for a hydraulics company, and want to utilize OpenFOAM to implement some CFD capability. |

Jason,
You might want to consider the OpenFOAM workshop coming up at Penn State in June. The workshop website also has links to the presentations from previous year's workshops, which might help you get a feel for the demographics of the attendees (or at least the presenters). Having attended last year's workshop in Gotheburg, I can tell you there was definitely a mix of people from academia, industry, and government, probably in that order.
