Hi,
Is OpenFOAM the right tool for the problem I'm looking to examine? I want to simulate an ice shelf (hydrostatically balanced floating ice) flowing through a channel. The channel widens. What stress and strains are induced into the ice due to the widening channel? It seems like OpenFOAM might be a good tool for this but I'm not yet certain, as it is a very complex bit of software. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks, -k. |

if you take a look at Prof Jasak´s PhD collection you will find http://powerlab.fsb.hr/ped/kturbo/Op...tchingsPhD.pdf the PhD from Hutchings this is about Ice => Ice modelling: Jenny Hutchings at google http://powerlab.fsb.hr/ped/kturbo/op...mplesOfUse.pdf so my guess is that OpenFOAM might be useful for your needs. elvis |
