hi fellow foamers,
i am trying to simulate a case very similar to the lid driven cavity tutorial. in my mesh the two sides have an angel of 4° between them and the top wall is an arc with the radius of 4 and the bottom wall is an arc with the radius of 3. like in the tutorial case, the top wall moves but here it rotates around the z axis. unfortunately the results with icoFoam look very weird. i am not sure what the problem is but i thought my results should look like the one in the cavity tutorial. i would really appreciate it if someone could take a look and post his/her thoughts

cheers

hi masterfgee,

i've never used the rotatingWallVelocity yet.
Quote:
top
{
type rotatingWallVelocity;
origin (0 0 0);
axis (1 0 0);
omega 0.1; // omega * radius = 0.1 * 0.004 = 0.0004 m/s
value uniform (0 0 0);
}
but is it really important that you have these radii or can you omit them? perhaps you can try without the radii and compare the results...
