sample utility stops sampling once the line leaves the domain

Hi,
I want to sample my results along a couple of lines after the simulation. The sample utility should be perfect for this, but I have a Problem. I want uniformly distributed points along the line, so I chose uniform as the sampling type. When the line leaves my domain the sampling stops and the last result in the new written file is the last point in my domain. But the line reenters the domain at another location and the sampling does not start at this position again. I hope you understand what I mean. Once the line leaves the domain the sampling stops and does not go on again when the line reenters the domain. Maybe someone else had the sample problem. I tried to change the sampledSets.C, but I can't find the right lines in the code. Of course, it works when I define a point cloud of the points along the line. But this is a bit inconvenient. Edit: Ah, and I would like to write e.g. zeros for the velocity components of the points on the line that are not inside the domain. When I construct a point cloud these points are ignored at all in the file. Thanks Last edited by Zymon; June 17, 2010 at 06:10. |
