Hello Foamers,
I have a mesh which contains unintended baffles (artefacts from meshing), which are not recognized and thus not treated by OpenFoam. I know that these baffles exist, because Fluent recognizes them. Since the company I'm working for, wants to get away from Fluent, I need to find a way to treat the baffles with OpenFoam. I would like to use the createBaffles utility, but in order to use it (as far as I understood), I need a faceSet as input. As I'm fairly new to OpenFoam, I have no idea how to create the required faceSet. Can anyone please tell me? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Best regards, Bastian. |

Thank you,
but I think I have a different situation. As far as I understand the thread, lakeat knows which faces he has to create a baffle of. In my case, I just know that there are infinitely thin walls (somewhere), but I cannot locate them using OpenFoam. My baffles are not intended, but rather artefacts from the meshing process. If I run checkMesh -allTopologies, then OF notices that there are baffles, but it does not write out the faceSet. So, is it possible to locate these faces or do I need to get rid of the artefacts during meshing already? Best regards, Bastian |
