Hi, can someone help me in finding a quick method to obtain only te XY component of the strain-rate tensor in a two-dimensional LES simulation? The case is made up by a rectangular channel-flow, and the solver is the pisoFoam incompressible one, with a oneEqEddy LES model (all the settings are practically the same of the pitzDaily incompressible LES tutorial).

Thank you in advance

Hi vkrastev,

do you already have the tensor? If yes you can just go

if A is defined as Tensor

scalar xyComponent = A.xy()

Best
