Hello Again
I'm curious if anyone has seen a good tutorial on how to mesh a 3D model. I have read the user manual but It doesn't have quite what I am looking for. I have a fin modeled in NX and coverted to STL format. I'm not sure how to tell the meshing tools what the orientation of the model is, i.e. where is the fixed base outside the flow, and which way X, Y and Z point. If anyone has seen a good tutorial on meshing 3D models I would really appreciate knowing about it. Thanks Scott |

If you use NX you should be able to write UNV (universal files) right?
So read the NX tutorials for Meshing write a UNV-file and run OF-Simulation Openfoam comes with a converter => IdeasUnvToFoam http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/IdeasUnvToFoam take a look at part2,3 of the shockwaves, and make similar with NX http://www.caelinux.org/wiki/index.p...ELinux_2007.29 good luck elvis |

Hi scott, if you have STL, you can use snappyhexmesh (perhaps!) http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kur...on_2009_OP.pdf anyway nice to get more information http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kurser/OS_CFD_2009/ http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kurser/OS_CFD_2008/ http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kurser/OS_CFD_2007/ on the other hand NX can create UNV-Files take a look how Salome creates UNV-File for Simulation an do same with NX http://www.caelinux.org/wiki/index.p...ELinux_2007.29 http://www.caelinux.org/wiki/downloa...7/PipeMesh.htm |
