I have this problem...
I'm thinking of simulating the airflow first and then feeding the results into a heat transfer simulation of the slab. Could work for a steady state solution, right? How to do this for an unsteady state I have no idea. I guess chtMultiRegionFoam is it. Comments, suggestions, a friendly word - anything is welcome! |

Perhaps this should've been posted in the OpenFOAM Running / Solving / CFD-subforum, if so I'm sorry and wish for the thread to be moved to its appropriate place. Or maybe I was not able to make myself understood, so I'll try again.
Same problem as above, i.e:
Code:
---outlet--------------- | | | | | ------- | | | slab | | | | | | | ------- | | | | | -----------------inlet--- I'm thinking no, so my suggestion is to use the airflow simulations I've done with simpleFoam to approximate the heat transfer coefficients at different points around the metal slab. Using laplacianFoam I could then calculate the temperature inside the slab at various times. I'd really appreciate it if someone could find the time to confirm, reject or discuss my proposal. |
