Hi All, this is just a simple question. I'm curious if anyone has run the throttle tutorial in the multiphase folder? I was curious how long it should take. I'm not really concerned here since I know CFD can take a while, just want to know what to expect The cavity tutorial took all of about 3 seconds and the throttle tutorial has been running all night (8 hours) so I'm not sure if it just takes a long time or if there could be a tolerance issue and its in limbo.
My machine has a dual Xeon Quad Core (8 cores) running at 3.2GHz, 8GB RAM, and Gentoo Linux. Thanks Scott |

Ok, It took about 60 hours to complete the simulation. Now I have a bunch of data and I'm not sure how to post process it. when I execute
"paraFoam -case procesor1" (0,2,3 are also options) ParaView opens and asks me to select a reader. I have tried every reader and none of them work. Can someone tell me what I should use? thanks Scott |

hi,
try to reconstruct your results with 'reconstructPar' . Next, convert your results to VTK format with 'foamToVTK'. Next, run paraFoam in your case directory, open the VTK folder and load your solution files. bye! P.S: Just ignore the reader error. |

Did your simulation converge?
As you can see in the attached picture, my residuals aren't that good and it doesn't look like this could change until the time hits the 1e-04 which is specified as the simulation end @default. Did you run the simulation further or also until 1e-04 s? Did you change anything else like the fvSolution for example? Thanks, Alex |
