Hi guys,
im new to the world of CFD and would really like the help of you experts out there. I have two questions which i would like you to answer:

1. Can you explain in simple steps how to install openfoam on a windows operating system ? im not getting the guide lines given in the openfoam official downloading site.

2. I really am not very familiar with CFD related jargon. What book would you recommend me to read to get to know the jargon and their definitions.

Thanks you guys.

Greetings Faisal,

First off, you shouldn't create two threads with the same intent. Secondly, you should've browsed better this Forum! There is a section dedicated to Windows!! Go here.

Thirdly, OpenFOAM isn't designed by nature to work in Windows. You'll have to resort to modified versions of it. And that's why there is a section dedicated to it.

You can also find an almost complete list of variants of OpenFOAM for Windows here. That page itself explains how to cross-compile OpenFOAM 1.6 (not 1.6.x) in Linux for Windows.

As for books, sorry, I'm still too green on the subject

Best regards,
Bruno
