Hi - just installed openFOAM and netgen and need some help...

I'm running openFOAM v1 in Windows and have just created a mesh with netgen.

The problem is that when I try to import the mesh into openFOAM I get a message that the application is not available. Looking in the bin directory I saw that there is only a limited number of exe files (compared to the listed applications in the gui).

Can anyone tell me where I can find this file?

I can see the source code in the documents (html) - will it work if I compile that to an exe with vb/ C++?

Thanks

Hello,

A Good Evening to you :-)!

I see that you have been trying to use the Windows version of OpenFOAM. I assume you obtained the binaries from the following website:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/openfoam-mswin/

This is an independent project, and is not connected with the mainstream version of OpenFOAM (Linux / Cygwin port / etc...etc...), and is still a project very much in progress.

As of now, the developers have only provided some of the core applications in the form on executables, and have requested users to ask them if they require any of the other executables.

I would suggest that you contact the developers of the project directly via their sourceforge site (bug list, feature requests, or discussion forum) with you needs.

If it is only the netgenNeutralToFoam executable that you require, I can provide you with this file (I have set up a rudimentary capability to compile applications on a need-to basis using Code::Blocks and MinGW32).

Have a nice day!

Philippose

Hi Philippose

Yes, that was where I downloaded it from.

At the moment I only require netgenNeutralToFoam (I hope) so it will be very helpfull if you can send that to me @ jjmomberg@gmail.com

As I get more familiar with the program I will compile a wishlist and contact the developers.

Many thanks,
Jaco
