Dear OpenFOAM users!
I am very impressed by the OpenFOAM capabilities after playing with the tutorials for a short period of time. My question is whether a toolbox exists as versatile as OpenFOAM in applicability, but for the Finite Difference method, not for Finite Volumes. I would like to compare the performance of a few simple applications in CFD and electrodynamics solved by FVM and FDM. If I'm not mistaken, meteorology and antenna design are classical fields of the FDM, and I'd like to learn by experiment whether this is only tradition or whether the FDM is really more powerful in solving these problems. Thanks Karl |

Hi Karl,
aren't there any SCILAB http://www.scilab.org/ FDM tools as 4 FEM? http://www.scilab.org/contrib/index_contrib.php?page=download&category=FINITE%20 ELEMENTS%20TOOLS or Octave http://www.octave.org/ FDM tools of course Matlab is always your friend http://www.wireless.kth.se/research/...nal_report.pdf http://web.it.kth.se/~jhuang/Data/Jinliang_Msthesis.pdf http://web.it.kth.se/~jhuang/ |
