I am trying to simulate a wind turbine case where I am using dynamicMeshDict. But I am predefining the angular velocity. I am calculating the torque using the runaway angular velocity and stalling torque concepts using the Cm value from the forceCoeffs function. But I want to simulate a case where the rotation of the turbine is flow induced. meaning the turbine has to rotate based on the magnitude of the inlet velocity and i want to calculate the torque and power through that.
I couldn't find any functions that will let me calculate values this way, nor could I find a method of dynamic meshing where the turbine would rotate based on the forces from the inlet wind. Kindly help me out. |

You will need to look into the field called FSI (fluid stucture interaction) which is big and complex.

It is an FSI problem. You should use a body motion solver. I think you should look into the the DTCHullMoving tutorial. Check the dynamicmeshdict in the tutorial. You should define your body and and define the dof (define the "joint") that you want to be solved, in this case would be dof related to the axis of rotation.
