Hello, I'm new to openfoam and I want to do a solution with HISA(High Speed Aerodynamic Solver), but there are a few things I don't understand. First of all, I'm sorry if my question is too simple, but I couldn't find a solution via google.

My aim is to create a 2D nozzle geometry and do a good mesh work and solve it. For this, as far as I can see, there is no option to create geometry in openfoam, so different CAD programs should be used. For example, I created my geometry through Autodesk Inventor, but in order to export this geometry from the program, I need to make it 3D, but I do not want this. Even if I make it 2D and import it somehow, I need to export the inlet outlet regions separately in order to throw it into openfoam, but I don't understand how to do this for a 2D geometry. For example, should I draw only the nozzle and export it, or should I draw the flow area as well? Even if I do this and export, I couldn't find how to save it separately as an inlet outlet. I also tried this via freeCad, but I couldn't find an example there that was made in 2D. I know that Openfoam converts the geometry to 3D afterwards, but does that mean it's okay for me to draw the geometry in 3D? I need a clear way to import and adapt geometry to openfoam in two dimensions.

Another thing I don't fully understand. Let's say I did everything, the mesh phase is over. In the videos I saw for the solution, everyone is copying the files of a similar example, adapting the values to themselves and decoding them. Is this what I should do too?

OpenFoam has no operations to convert a 2D geometry to a 3D geometry.

OpenFoam works on the mesh directly (it reads the mesh from the constant/polymesh directory).

You can learn OpenFoam from copying examples or by reading up on the theory and implementation.

Pls. get in touch with more specific questions.
