Hi everyone! I’m new in OpenFoam and I want to perform a CFD simulation which consists of face mask sim, where particles are included.

I don’t really know how to model the face mask. I thought about a porous media, but I don’t know how particles will interact with it, as only a few percent of that can go through the surface.

Does anyone have experience with that type of simulation and could give some advice?

Thank you in advance!!

I'm currently attempting to model flow around a potentially novel face-shield that has fabric sides, so looking to incorporate porosity modelling. I'm thinking to not model the particle motion thru the fabric explicitly, instead calculate a particle-density map of contact with the porous boundary, which perhaps could be used as a proxy to measure virus mitigation effectiveness. But, any advice from experts in this area is most welcomed!
