Good Morning Everyone,
I am working on finding the heave, sway and roll response of 2-D floating body with wave in openfoam(V-5). I generate wave and it is perfect. simulations also ran without any error. Now i want to calculate the response of floating body with wave please suggest me how to do so in openfoam. Regards, Akshay |

Position of your defined body is written down to solver log at each iteration. You should write a script that reads the position data in solver log and accumulate it with iteration or simulation time to plot a graph. You can use python or Linux-bash for script.

Dear Sir,
Thanks for your reply..! can you will explain what is the order of 6dof motions(surge, sway heave, roll, pitch, yaw) in orientation tensor. 6-DoF rigid body motion Centre of rotation: (2 0.02 0.4) Centre of mass: (2 0.02 0.4) Orientation: (1 0 8.6106890225e-21 0 1 0 -8.6106890225e-21 0 1) Linear velocity: (0 0 0) Angular velocity: (0 1.44659575578e-17 0) Regards, Akshay |

hello Roithamer,
I'm also running floating obect (2d case) using olaflow. I'm able run the simulation successfully but to plot surge, heave i don't have much knoweledge in that could you share more info on this . thanks in advance |
