Dear all,
Recently I am interested in fracking problem of poro media and I found the existed mathematical model named poroLinGeomSolid in solids4Foam. I took a close look at the code and the accompanying example, and now I'm going to consider the hydraulic fracturing problem on the basis of the existing example.

My idea is to set poroLinGeomSolid in solidProperties and poroLinearElastic in mechanicalProperties. Then the crack -- solid cohesive type in the example is used in 0/D.
So the question is, how do I set the injection point? This source term should be applied to the injection point with a constant flowRate as the boundary condition. Can this problem be solved using solids4Foam? How to solve it?

This problem does not seem to be much value, so I regard this problem as an entry training, a hobby so that I can better understand such issues. I hope everyone could give some suggestions.

Thanks all.
Young

Hi Young,

OpenFOAM has been used for fracking problems, in particular in M. Sharma's group in the University of Texas (UT) at Austin.

solids4foam shares some common origins with the code from UT, however, many features from the UT group have not been publicly shared.

You are correct that the poro-elastic (+ optional plasticity) model is present and so is a cohesive model, however, the injection methodology, crack leaf-off models, and fracture flow models are not present in solids4foam.

Oh, thanks for your reply, Philip. I think it's a little difficult for me without reference or guidance, but I will try it anyway.
