idmdt in two phase flow solver

Default idmdt in two phase flow solver

I am using reactingeulerfoam to solve boiling problems. In paraview, I can see the value of idmdt. if the idmdt is negative. What does it mean? Does mean that liquid become vapor or vapor becomes liquid.
