Spline generation for Adjoint Based Shape Optimisation

I have a question regarding the adjointOptimizationFoam and in particular the shape optimization.
To train myself, I wanted to modify the example with the MotorBike to do modifications on a simple cube instead. I set up my model and the cube seemed to deform itself at the front but the results were not at all what I was expecting : instead of rounding the edges and extending at the back, the cube was just shrinking in the direction of the flow or was getting a lot larger in width. My question concerns the controlPoints of the volumetricBSplinesFI in particular. (Defined in 'constant/controlPoints') For my own case I just took the same number of points as for the motorBike and just moved them in a manner to cover my own case better. But when I change the number of controlPoints the log.adjointOptimisationFoam contains following error: --> FOAM FATAL ERROR: (openfoam-2106) Number of control points does not agree with nCPsU*nCPv*nCPsW I can't find any information on what those volumetricBSplinesFI and the numbers nCPsU*nCPv*nCPsW represent and in general very few information on the adjoint shape optimization algorithms of OpenFoam. Does anyone has some more information on this topic or a solution on how I can use those control points more wisely ? |

hello, hope you will be fine. actually i m interested in the adjoint shape optimization using openFOAM. could you please help me with some helpful material like tutorial. it will really help me to start learning this method. thanks in advance.
