Spurious Values when Probing (u,v)?

I am running a simulation that simulates the flow over three rotating cylinders. I am probing the velocity and pressure at several locations in the wake downstream of the cylinders.
When plotting the velocities in MATLAB, I notice what appear to be spurious values of velocity; see the attachment below. Although this case is not very extreme, some probe locations return many spurious values. u_t_spurious values.jpg What could be the cause of this? Thank you for any thoughts or insight. |

Are those probes close to any boundary (including processor boundaries if the case is parallel)?
Might be useful for the community if you can provide a minimal reproducible example. There could even be a bug.
