Hello everyone,
I am currently using OpenFOAM 5.x on Ubuntu 18.04. I have an upgrade option that will upgrade my system to Ubuntu 20.04. I want to upgrade but I am not sure whether my OpenFOAM will work fine or cause an error if I upgrade. PS: I had no idea where to post a question like this so I posted it here. Apologies if it off topic. |

Dear Anjul,
you can use Ubuntu 20 and OpenFOAM-5. However, depending on how you managed to run FOAM on you system, it might be broken. E.g., if you installed it using *.deb files. If you compiled the solvers yourself, there is no problem. However, keep in mind that OpenFOAM 5 is almost 3 versions behind the official release and a newer version includes bug-fixes and extensions.
